Unilateral knee replacement: appropriate for younger and older patients with end-stage osteoarthritis.

A recent study from the Oxford group (Dr. Kennedy) showed that osteoarthritis patients in all age groups benefit from unilateral knee replacement. The best indication is end-stage osteoarthritis (bone on bone in the affected knee compartiment).
